Almost 30 years after leaving school I drove a lorry
On hindsight I should have been an accountant

Forensic Pathologist, unfortunately I got a little drunk during the period when I should have been doing A-Levels/Degrees and ended up as a computer geek as that required minimal effort.

I always wanted to be in music (and definitely a rock musician once I got some taste).
Gave it a go for a while but lack of luck (and talent) meant there was never any money in it for me.
Ended up being a computer programmer after stints as:
building site labourer
postroom lackey
barman/resident staff alky
filing clerk
trainee accountant
HR drone
Count myself lucky as I enjoy the job I have ended up doing and had a lot of fun doing the music thing too.

At various times I wanted to play bag pipes in the Scots Guards, play rugby league, be an ornithologist and a few other things.
Never came remotely close to any of those things.

Soldier and was extremely close to joining up but for some cunty reason ended up working in the finance depart for law firms for the past 25 years.
Would have been perfect age for the first Gulf war and on reflection, dying in the desert may have been a better option than this fucking boring job.
